2NIGHT is built for spontaneous, real-life nights. A few simple habits keep them fun — and keep you in control when you meet someone new.

Why same-night meetings need their own habits

2NIGHT is a one-night dating app for iPhone that shows who is out near you tonight, so you can match and meet the same evening instead of chatting for days. That speed is the point, and it also means you will often meet someone you first saw an hour ago. The six habits above are not a lecture; they are the short list that keeps a quick plan a good one. Two of them deserve a longer explanation.

Meet in public, every first time. A first meet is a bar, a café, a venue or a busy square — never a private home, never a car, never an isolated spot, whatever the story. If a plan on 2NIGHT names a private address as the venue, treat that as a reason to skip it.

Keep your own way home. Know your route, keep enough battery and cash for a taxi, and do not rely on the person you just met for a ride. Being able to leave at any moment is what makes trusting your gut possible.

The tools inside the app

Two-minute video call. From any match you can start a short video or voice call. It runs peer-to-peer between the two phones (it never passes through our servers) and it is the quickest honest check that a person is who their photos say. It is free for everyone during the launch period. As on any peer-to-peer call, each side can technically see the other's IP address.

Hide me. One tap takes you out of every feed immediately. A “Tonight” status also expires by itself at 5 AM, so you never stay visible by accident.

Rounded distances only. Other members receive your distance in whole kilometres from the server, never your coordinates. If you do not go live for about 30 days, your stored position is blurred to your city.

Block. From a profile or the ⋯ menu in a chat. A block is instant, silent and works both ways: you disappear from each other's Tonight feed, pings stop, shared plans drop one of you, and the conversation leaves both inboxes. Nobody is told. You can undo a block under Settings → Safety & privacy.

Report. Tap the shield on a profile, or Report in the ⋯ menu of a chat, and choose one of three reasons: inappropriate content, fake or scam, or harassment. Reports are confidential by design — no member, including the person who filed it, can read a report back — and a person reviews every one, usually within 24 hours and always within 72. The outcome is removal, a warning, or closure; a closed report is never held against you. If a report describes a credible threat, we pass it to law enforcement. Contact details stay in the app until you choose. Free members cannot send phone numbers, social handles, emails or links in chat. That rule exists for membership reasons, but it has a useful side effect: you can agree on a bar and a time without handing over your number to someone you have not met.

What 2NIGHT does not do

We do not run background checks or identity checks, and there is no verification badge. Nobody at 2NIGHT reads your chats, and the app does not scan messages for abusive language — the only automatic checks are a short list of prohibited terms when you save your bio, and the contact-details rule above. That is why reporting matters so much: a word list cannot tell that someone made you uncomfortable, but you can.

Scams, in one paragraph

Never send money, gift cards or cryptocurrency to anyone you met in the app, no matter how good the reason sounds — a stranded traveller, a medical bill, an investment tip, a “verification fee”. 2NIGHT never asks for payment outside the App Store, and a real match does not need your money to have a drink with you. Report the account with “fake or scam” and block it.

If something goes wrong

If you are in danger, contact local emergency services first — they can reach you in minutes; we are one person reading a queue. Then report the account so we can act on it. If a report or a block decision looks wrong to you, email safety@2night.co from the address on your account and a person will look again. Removals and warnings are made by people, and people can be wrong; if we were, we reverse it.
