2NIGHT vs Pure: two ways to keep a dating app short-lived
2NIGHT is a one-night dating app for iPhone that shows who is out near you tonight, so you can match and meet the same evening instead of chatting for days.
2NIGHT is an alternative to Tinder, Bumble, Happn and Pure for people who want a spontaneous same-night date. Pure and 2NIGHT share one conviction: a dating app should not be a place you live in. Pure achieves that with disappearing ads and chats; 2NIGHT with a status that ends at 5 AM and a feed of people who are out tonight. Beyond that shared idea, they are quite different products.
How Pure works
Pure is built around personal ads, not profiles. To see other people you post an ad saying what you are looking for; ads and profiles are deleted after 24 hours, chats self-destruct after a day, and photos disappear after being viewed. Posting can be anonymous. Pure verifies that users are over 18 with a two-step check (face scan plus government ID) run by Veriff, and blocks screenshots. Most features require a subscription for men — around $13.49 a week, $29.99 a month or $79.99 a year according to 2026 reviews — while women can use the app free and pay for a separate “Pure Queens” tier. It runs on iOS, Android and the web.
How 2NIGHT works
2NIGHT uses a radius around your location and a nightly “Tonight” status that expires at 5 AM; your profile only appears in the feed while you are live, next to other people who are out that night. You go live with a category (drinks, food, rooftop, music, culture, sports, games, nightlife, talk, coffee, walk, network), an intention (dating, friends, both, networking) and one line of text. You set a max distance from 1 km up to 5 km on the free tier, 15 km on Gold or 50 km on Platinum Black. Ping people; a mutual ping opens a 48-hour chat. You can also post a Plan others can join, and start a two-minute peer-to-peer video call from any match. There is no verification and no anonymity: profiles carry a first name, age and photos.

What Pure does better
- Age verification. Pure's ID-backed check is real; 2NIGHT relies on a self-declared age (18+) and removes accounts it believes are underage.
- Anonymity and disappearing content. If you want to post without a name and have everything vanish, Pure is designed for that.
- Android and web.
What 2NIGHT does better
- Free for everyone. Joining and meeting people is free regardless of gender; paid tiers add reach and convenience, not access.
- A feed of people actually out. Pure shows ads; 2NIGHT shows people who are live tonight within a distance you control, with the honest count in the header.
- Plans. Public invitations for a small group — useful when a one-to-one meeting is not the mood.
- A video check. Two minutes, device to device, before you go.
- Broader intent. Drinks, a gig, a walk, new friends — 2NIGHT is about being out tonight, not one kind of encounter.
Which one for which night
If anonymity and disappearing content are the point, Pure is the more purpose-built tool. If you want to see who is out near you tonight, meet for a drink or a plan, and keep your privacy without hiding your face, 2NIGHT is built for that. Our wider 2026 comparison covers Tinder, Bumble, Happn, Bounce, MeetTonight and Thursday too.
2NIGHT is free to join, 18+, iPhone only; join the waitlist at 2night.co.
Pure facts are taken from Pure's Google Play listing and its press room, and from 2026 reviews by DatingScout and BestReviews. Prices vary by region and change; anything unconfirmed is marked “not verified”.
