2NIGHT city guides: how a one-night date works where you are

Every city has its own idea of what “tonight” means. In Paris it starts with an apéro at half past six and ends with the last metro; in Berlin it starts at midnight and ends whenever; in Los Angeles it is over by two and involves a car. The 2NIGHT model is the same everywhere, but the way you use it is not, and these guides are our attempt to be specific about that.

What every guide covers

2NIGHT uses a radius around your location and a nightly “Tonight” status that expires at 5 AM; your profile only appears in the feed while you are live, next to other people who are out that night. Each city page explains how that plays out locally: which neighbourhoods people actually go out in on a weeknight versus a weekend, what time the evening starts and ends, how the last train or the lack of one shapes a plan, what radius setting makes sense on the free 5 km tier and on the 15 km and 50 km tiers, a short safety paragraph drawn from our safety page, and an honest status block saying where 2NIGHT stands in that city today. The city facts are general knowledge about neighbourhoods and transport; there are no venue recommendations and no invented figures.

The eight cities

• Tonight in London — A city of villages that goes out near the office on weeknights and near home at weekends. Soho, Shoreditch, Dalston, Brixton, the last Tube around midnight and the Night Tube on Friday and Saturday nights.
• Tonight in New York — A 24-hour subway and bars open until 4 am. The East Village and Lower East Side on weeknights, Williamsburg and Bushwick at weekends, and a 5 km circle that covers more than it looks like on a map.
• Tonight in Paris — Apéro at 6:30, dinner at 9, last metro after midnight. Oberkampf, the Marais, Canal Saint-Martin, Pigalle and Belleville, all inside a city where the free 5 km radius already reaches the périphérique.
• Tonight in Berlin — No closing time, trains all night at the weekend, and a Kiez for every kind of evening: Kreuzberg, Neukölln, Friedrichshain, Prenzlauer Berg, Schöneberg. A big city where naming the neighbourhood matters most.
• Tonight in Barcelona — Dinner at ten, bars until two, a metro that runs all night on Saturdays. Gràcia, El Born, Poble-sec, Sant Antoni and the Eixample in a compact grid between the sea and the hills.
• Tonight in Amsterdam — A city crossed by bike, where 4 km is fifteen minutes along a canal. The Jordaan, De Pijp, Oud-West, Oost and Noord across the IJ, with bars closing at 1 on weeknights and much later at weekends.
• Tonight in Lisbon — Seven hills, a 2 km centre and a late timetable. Bairro Alto until two, Cais do Sodré after, Príncipe Real, Anjos and Intendente for locals, and a metro that stops at 1 am.
• Tonight in Los Angeles — The city where a radius decides everything. Silver Lake and the Eastside, Koreatown, Downtown, Hollywood, Venice and the Westside; last call at 2 am and a ride home to arrange before you leave.

Where 2NIGHT stands in these cities

All eight are waitlist-only. As of 7 September 2026, 2NIGHT is not on the App Store, and no launch wave has been announced for any city on this page. We open cities in waves; the waitlist at 2night.co is the only way in, and we message you the moment your city goes live. We do not publish member counts or activity figures for cities that have not opened. When a city does open, its page will say so, and the feed header in the app will show the real number of people live near you, never a marketing figure.

Why the radius changes the advice

A 5 km circle is a very different thing in different cities. In Paris, Barcelona, Lisbon and Amsterdam it covers nearly the whole place people go out in, so the free Silver tier is enough and the advice is to keep the circle tight and name the neighbourhood. In London, Berlin and New York it covers a cluster of neighbourhoods and the river or the ring matters more than the number. In Los Angeles it covers one cluster and nothing else, and the 15 km Gold radius is where a real choice begins. Transport is the other variable: a city with an all-night subway (New York) or all-night weekend trains (Berlin, Barcelona on Saturdays) removes the deadline that a last-metro city (Paris, Lisbon, London on weeknights) builds into every plan. The guides are organised around those two facts because they decide whether a ping at nine becomes a drink at ten.

How to use the guides

Read the one for the city you are in, set your radius the way it suggests, put the neighbourhood and a time in your status line, and ping early on weeknights. Use the categories in the app (drinks, food, walk, talk, music, nightlife and the rest) to say what kind of night you mean. Post a Plan when you would rather meet a small group than one person. And keep the safety habits automatic: public place, a friend who knows, your own way home, no money to strangers, block and report anyone who makes you uncomfortable.
